Overview

EY have an annual conference for their top interns, the International Internship Leadership Conference (IILC), which takes place in Florida every year.  They were looking for a way for conference delegates from around the globe to get to know each other prior to the conference and build engagement around their owned IILC assets on Twitter and Facebook.  Also, to raise awareness of the conference across the wider business and amongst potential graduates recruits.

The Game

Carve created ‘IILC Bright Minds’ – a Twitter quiz through the @EY_IILC account with delegates playing the quiz against ‘the rest of the world’. Delegates were informed of the quiz when joining the conference. To play, delegates were asked to tweet @EY_IILC stating their attendance and if they wanted to participate. For delegates not on twitter a step by step guide was provided to create an account.

Starting 15 days prior to the conference, @EY_IILC posed a daily quiz question to its followers, with participants submitting answers via a reply tweet. The first 10 correct answers received points which were displayed on a leaderboard.

Questions covered 4 categories:

  • About EY
  • About IILC
  • General ‘brainteaser’
  • General knowledge

Sharing the quiz was encouraged using #brightminds and adding the bespoke Twibbon to Twitter profiles. Answers were monitored on Hootsuite, making the order of posts easily trackable and points allocated accordingly.

The Results
  • 82 players registered to play
  • 91.5k Twitter accounts reached
  • 365.8k total exposure on Twitter
  • 249 tweets sent from @EY_IILC
  • 577 tweets using #IILC #IILCbrightminds or IILCQuiz
